Child Health and the Immunisation Program

Doctor Fiona Peckham has a Diploma in Child Health and is has had lots of hands on experience with her own three children. She runs the child health clinic on a Tuesday morning but is always happy to see you and your children in any of her normal surgery hours if that is more convenient for you.

6 week baby checks are combined with your postnatal check. These can be booked through our reception team, although Dr Peckham will usually try to phone you soon after your baby is born to see how things are going and will arrange it with you.

If your child is ill please contact the surgery for advice and a doctor will speak to you or call you back. We will ask for your child's details and for a brief description of what is wrong and then a doctor or nurse Practitioner will call you back. You will then either be offered advice or an appointment. If your child needs to be seen we will always be able to see the on the same day.girl_with_open_mouth

NHS Healthcheck bp_at_home

The NHS Health Check programme aims to help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and certain types of dementia. Everyone between the ages of 40 and 74, who has not already been diagnosed with one of these conditions or have certain risk factors, will be invited (once every five years) to have a check to assess their risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes and will be given support and advice to help them reduce or manage that risk.

Please contact the surgery and speak to our nurse team if you have received your invite and wish to book an appointment.

If you have not received an invite and think that you are entitled to an NHS Healthcheck, please contact the surgery.
